How to play Pricedle

The daily price guessing game, fully explained. Rules, hint system, and the strategy that wins more often.

The rules

  1. One real product appears each day with no price shown.
  2. You have 6 guesses to land within $1.00 of the actual price.
  3. After each guess, you get a higher 🔺 or lower 🔻 hint plus a heat meter.
  4. The same product shows for everyone playing on the same calendar day.
  5. Win to grow your streak. Miss and your streak resets the next day.

Reading the heat meter

The temperature indicator shows how close your guess is in percentage terms, not dollars. A $50 miss on a $1,000 product is "warm"; a $50 miss on a $20 product is ice cold.

The strategy: anchor wide, then halve

The best Pricedle players use bisection. Don't guess your gut on guess #1 — guess a deliberately wide anchor to learn the range.

  1. Guess 1: Anchor wide. For an unknown item, try $50.
  2. Guess 2: Read the heat. "Higher + cold" means the answer is well above $50, so jump to $250+.
  3. Guess 3-6: Bisect. Each guess should split the remaining range roughly in half.

Difficulty rotates by day of week

Pricedle quietly rotates difficulty so the week stays varied:

Sharing your score

When you finish, Pricedle generates a spoiler-free emoji grid you can copy and share — Wordle's grid, with thermometer emojis showing how close each guess was.
